Useful and decorative items inspired by nature and the Great Lakes
Dunes Gallery, located in downtown Muskegon, Michigan, is home to the creations of two local artists, Mark Thogerson and Jeanette Kaufman. We offer a variety of items, mostly made from local materials. They include:
• Wood items: bowls, kitchen and serving items, cutting and charcuterie boards, sculptural pieces, crosses, and small furniture, among other things.
• Nature crafts: Shadow boxes and bookmarks using dried flowers, and items from the beach and forest.
• Scrimshaw: etched designs on fossil ivory (mammoth, walrus), repurposed piano keys, and antler. Items include jewelry, desk accessories, hunting knives and folders, cribbage boards and the like. All ivory is legally obtained.
• Nature photography and watercolors inspired by the Great Lakes. Custom framing and matting is optional.
